Boethius in Kalamazoo


The Congress Committee for the 53rd International Congress on Medieval Studies (May 10-13, 2018) has approved two sessions to be sponsored by the International Boethius Society with the following titles:

1. Boethius in Medieval France and Spain

2. Teaching Boethius (A Roundtable)

Approved Sponsored and Special Sessions are listed in the call for papers on the Congress website:

Please send paper proposals for 20-minute papers to Philip Edward Phillips, Secretary, International Boethius Society, at, by September 15, 2017.

The Society will also host its annual business meeting and reception at the Congress. All are invited to attend.


The International Boethius Society sponsored a session on “Boethius’s De consolatione philosophiae: Reception, Translation, and Influence” at the 52nd International Congress on Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo, May 11-14, 2017. Congratulations to all on a wonderful session!
